Welcome to our blog.
We are two bicycle lovers from New Jersey, Elisabeth Wolfe and Lindsay Perez. We took a long train ride across the country from Princeton, NJ to Seattle, WA and now we're biking back!
Lindsay wants to see the intricacies of who and what we are as a country, not the sugar-coated version, but the back roads where she can interact with Dick, Jane, Jose and Juan and gain a new understanding of what it is to call herself American. She is about to commit herself to three years in Syracuse, NY, pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture, and wants to enjoy freedom from obligations while she can, without having to do things on other peoples' accord. She also wants to bike simply because it's fun and she wants a physical challenge with a clear cut goal.
Elisabeth also wants to see parts of the country that she has never seen before and get a feel for what this enormous, beautiful country is all about. She really wants to see the farming and gardening community around the country, from massive cash crop farms to backyard vegetable gardens, since what she wants to do most of all after this trip is help people produce food in a way that is beneficial to themselves and beneficial to the American dirt that is essential in sustaining everyone in this country.
But really, mostly we want to get bronzed and muscled.
Here is a general view of our route, below (click on it to see it in more detail). If you know anyone around the areas that we will be biking through that would be kind enough to let us stay with them (we will cook a delicious meal), then let us know!
